Check the variant you choose — the "With Timing" versions include a timer display, the others do not. A knee mat is not included unless a variant says so, so use a folded towel or a yoga mat under your knees.
Start from your knees, keep your back flat rather than letting it arch, and stop the rollout well before your hips drop. If you have a history of lower back problems, get advice before adding rollouts to your routine.

Is it suitable for a complete beginner?
More so than a standard ab wheel, because the rebound helps you back. Start with very short rollouts from your knees and increase the range slowly.
What is the difference between the timing and non-timing versions?
The timing version has a built-in timer display for working in intervals. The mechanics are otherwise the same.
Is a knee mat included?
Not unless the variant states it. A folded towel works perfectly well.
Will it work on carpet?
Yes, though it rolls more smoothly on a hard floor. On thick carpet expect more resistance.
