Product details
A whole cosmos, right above your bed. Swirling nebula clouds and a scatter of stars, drifting slowly across your ceiling and walls. It is the fastest way to make a room feel like somewhere you chose rather than somewhere you rent.
Features
- Galaxy and star projection — layered nebula colour with pinpoint stars over the top, covering most of an average bedroom ceiling
- Adjustable brightness and colour — from a barely-there glow for sleeping to full colour for a room full of people
- Remote and sleep timer — set it going from bed and let it switch itself off
- Static or rotating — rotation looks better in photos, static is calmer for settling down
- Plug in and go — no app, no account, no setup
Perfect for
- A teenager's bedroom, which is where most of ours end up
- Anyone redecorating on a budget — it changes a room for less than a lampshade
- Content creators who need an interesting backdrop
- A birthday gift for someone hard to buy for, because the reaction happens the moment it goes on
Good to know
A flat, pale ceiling reflects the projection cleanly. Dark, textured or heavily patterned ceilings will absorb a lot of it. In a large open-plan room the effect spreads out and dims — this is designed around a normal bedroom. Like most galaxy projectors it uses a small laser diode for the sharp star points, so nobody should look directly into the lens.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as a star projector?
Not quite. A star projector usually means points of light with no cloud effect. This gives you both — the coloured nebula wash and the stars. Neither is astronomically accurate; that would be a planetarium projector, which is far dimmer.
Is it safe in a child's room?
Used sensibly, yes: placed out of reach, pointed at the ceiling rather than at eye level, run dim and on the timer. Keep the cable routed away from a cot or bed. Nobody should look into the aperture.
Does it get hot?
No. It runs on LEDs at low wattage and stays cool enough to sit on a bedside table.
Can I leave it on all night?
You can, but we would use the timer. A moving light show all night is more likely to disturb sleep than help it. Thirty to sixty minutes covers the settling period.
Is it noisy?
There is a faint motor hum when rotation is on. Switch rotation off and it is silent.
