Good to know
Use the lowest suction that works, keep sessions short, and stop if the baby becomes distressed. Clean and dry the tips after every single use. This is a comfort device for ordinary congestion — it is not a medical device and it does not treat an infection. If your baby has difficulty breathing, is feeding poorly, has a high temperature or you are worried at all, contact your GP, health visitor or NHS 111 rather than reaching for a gadget.

What age can it be used from?
It is designed for babies from newborn upwards, always on the gentlest setting and always supervised. If in doubt for a very young or premature baby, ask your health visitor first.
How do I clean it?
Take the tip and collection chamber off after every use, wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry fully before reassembling. Do not submerge the motor unit.
Will it upset my baby?
Most babies dislike the sensation more than the noise. Short bursts on a low setting, with the baby held upright, tend to go best.
Can saline drops be used with it?
Many parents use saline drops first to loosen things, then aspirate. Check with a pharmacist for the right product and dosage for your baby's age.
