Birthday buying is a different problem from Christmas buying. You are usually buying for one specific person you know well, which means a generic gift lands worse, not better.
Pick by what they are like
The one who films everything: the Grip camera mount or the Steady tripod.
The one training at home: the CorePower ab roller or the PowerGrip trainer with its digital counter.
The one whose flat is beige: the Cosmos galaxy projector, the rain cloud diffuser or the Orbit levitating lamp.
The one who is impossible: the Drift kinetic sand art. Useless, and picked up by everyone who walks past it.
The one in the car constantly: the Roadside tyre inflator with auto-stop.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good birthday gift for someone who has everything?
Something they would find faintly indulgent to buy for themselves. That is almost always a small luxury rather than a big one — a levitating lamp, a kinetic sand frame, an eye massager. Nobody buys those for themselves and everybody keeps them.
How much should a birthday gift cost?
For a colleague or a friend's partner, £15 to £25 is normal in the UK. For a close friend or a sibling, £30 to £50. Our gifts under £50 page filters on live prices, so nothing on it can drift over budget.
What is a good milestone birthday gift?
For an 18th or a 21st, something for a first flat — the projector, the desk lamp or the slicer set. For a 30th or a 40th, something that improves an existing routine rather than starting a new one: the safety razor, the tyre inflator, the heated lunch box.
Do you send a gift message?
We do not currently include a printed message card, except with the boxed jewellery which comes with one. Orders ship in plain outer packaging with no prices shown on the paperwork, so you can send directly to the recipient.
How quickly will it arrive?
Most orders land within 7 to 12 days, so order with a fortnight in hand for a birthday. Full detail is on our shipping page.
